Went all the way to Florida to cause trouble.

Thank goodness not a LTC, charged in addition with possession of a gun by a felon.

A hired security person at the speech was also arrested for carrying on a college campus.

Would not the hiring authority be able to give him permission to carry?

Here is the story on the security guard. It was overshadowed by the shooting.

However, it is more interesting (less so since the LTC law) for us as the security guard had a CHL and was arrested by the police when they saw his gun printing on his shirt.

We need to remember, not all states have carry laws like Texas.

The second article says he was "hired by a media group for the event" not by the school. That detail wasn't in the first story and makes yuuge difference. Now I'm curious if the media group was associated with the speech or protesting free speech.

I'm also curious if the police arrested any of the anti-free-speech protestors who started the violence. I'm not excusing the guy who fired the shot but the police should also arrest the guy who swung a club at the three men before the driver shot back. And if the police are going to arrest the two passengers in the jeep and hold them on $1,000,000 bond then they should arrest the accomplices of the club attacker and hold them on $1,000,000 bond too. Unless the police are in cahoots with antifa?

Looks like it might be a while before they are back in Texas causing trouble.

I don't believe it's true that a felon had a gun and used it to try and murder someone.

Both of those things are against the law. :-)
