Wow & double wow! Talk about restraint on the LEO's part! One officer is clearly injured, yet no guns were fired. I saw several taser's and pepper spray was used. Wow!

Thanks for posting. That could have turned REAL ugly really fast.

Here's a good article discussing the scary events. I'm a little surprised more of the idiots weren't shot.

The cop was shot in the leg. The two idiots shot and one killed.

Wow. Glad the officers are OK. I hope authorities file every charge possible on them.

Everyone of them should go to prison and the 11 year old girl should be taken by CPS. The mom should be arrested for child endangerment.

Wow. I clearly did not have a grasp of the gravity of the situation. Thanks for posting that mojo84.

From the article: "The Gavers face charges that include assault on a police officer, hindering prosecution and resisting arrest."

I'm surprised that they weren't charged with attempted capital murder.

You're right Carl. I agree 100%.

This might have been all the Officer's this town had on duty. A desperate "Officer needs assistance" call in west Houston will bring an Army of LEO's from the Sheriff, Constable, DPS, School District Police, Houston Police, Katy Police, Firefighters & EMS etc.

The Christian family band that brawled with police in an Arizona Walmart parking lot were not slowed down by repeated hits from Tasers, pepper spray and batons, newly released dashcam video shows.

The fighting stopped only after a 21-year-old member of the Gaver family was fatally shot, his brother was struck in the stomach and a cop took a bullet to the leg.

The melee broke out March 21 after eight officers responded to a report that a member of the Gaver family — which had been living out of their car in the parking lot — had pushed a Walmart employee in a store bathroom, police said.

When police tried to separate the family band for questioning, they attacked, Cottonwood Police Chief Jody Fanning said Friday.
Cops tried to subdue six Gavers with Tasers and pepper spray. But the family rolled on the ground to break Taser strings, wiped pepper spray away and got right back up, Fanning said.

"I've personally never seen that tactic applied, Fanning said, according to CNN. "Somebody has taught them that."

Those officers had a lot more patience than I could ever find. That lawless violent family needs to be removed from the planet.

Christian family? More like Westboro Baptist nuts. Wonder what gave them the idea this was a Christian family?

If they were fighting with the police, who were the two guys fighting where neither of them were the police? Didn't look like Walmart employee either. That was odd.

The big guy was a walmart employee and I believe the woman you see coming into the video is a walmart manager. The cops gave credit to the guy for really helping them out. These nuts sound like they really thought this out and planned for this type of thing. For the most part instead of exchanging blows with the cops they reportedly grabbed at the cops noses, faces and ears as they were wrestling.

I think and hope I would. I dont think i could just watch that or turn my back. The "how" part is the tricky part for me. I think I would have to be in the situation to know for sure. I do believe I would have gone to the aid of the officer on the ground and outnumbered. Also, I would have a hard time not drawing and shooting once the first shot was fired. May be good I'm not a cop.

Then again, this is all speculation on my part.

I think I would step in to help an officer but call 911 first because of another incident. When my boys and I were in karate years ago several instructors were police officers. One shared an incident during our ground fighting where he was struggling with a suspect and a crowd was watching. He said no one offered him any help - they all just watched him struggling to try and maintain control of the guy. He had to yell out and ask people to call 911. I decided then that I couldn't be like the crowd and watch someone take down an officer.
