Victims take gun from suspects during home invasion, suspect

Edinburg police continue their search for a man accused of robbing three people early Saturday morning.

Investigators told Action 4 News two men burst into an apartment located on the 1400 block of West Carmen Street around 4:00 Saturday morning and demanded money.

They allegedly tried to steal the three victims wallets.

Police said during the robbery the victims were able to get the gun from the suspects; both fled the scene.

The victims called 911 and turned the gun over to police.

A few hours later the victims said the suspects came back and asked for their gun backā€”that is when the victims called police again.

The suspects took off in a Pontiac Bonneville.

Police chased the suspects until they crashed on the 400 block of West FM 2812.

One suspect was taken to the hospital with minor injuries and the other suspect got away.

Charges are pending against the suspect in the hospital.

A rookie mistake. After they spend a few years in BG grad school, they won't be doing that anymore.
