Witness stops robbery

HOUSTON – Police in south Houston investigated an attempted robbery that led to the shooting of the suspect late Thursday.

According to the Houston Police Department, it happened around 9 p.m. on Live Oak Street at Wichita Street.

According to Robbery Division investigators, a man tried to rob an individual who was walking down the street. Another passerby saw what was going on and stepped in to help, shooting the suspect.

Neither the shooter nor the robbery victim were injured. The robbery suspect was taken to the hospital in serious but stable condition.

Police refused to provide further information as the investigation is on-going.

I sure would like to know the details of how this all went down. Seems pretty dangerous to interfere with a robbery in progress, but sounds like an excellent outcome.

This is why we need more people carrying guns... where was the police to protect the victim? Not to slam LEO's, but they can't be everywhere... and criminals go after what they think are vulnerable victims.

Kudos to the Good Samaritan for stopping this... I hope all is cleared and no charges are pressed.
