Hays County Deputies called to investigate an assault, discover a woman hit in the head with a dumbbell. The suspect was her 19 year old son, Caleb Crow. Crow struck his mother at their home off Rader Ranch Road in Wimberley. She was taken to the hospital where she was treated and later released.
While investigating this crime, Hays Co deputies were called to the 300 block of Rader Ranch Road to investigate a shooting.
A 44 year old man had been shot in the stomach; the suspect was also Crow. The shooting victim was inside his house when he noticed Crow sitting inside his vehicle. The victim came outside and confronted Crow. Crow then shot the victim with a .45 caliber pistol. The victim was taken to University Medical Center Brackenridge where he is in critical condition.
Caleb Crow was arrested after a standoff with Hays Co SWAT. He is currently being held in the San Marcos jail on $250,000 bond. Crow is charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and one count of Theft of a Firearm.
After the standoff, Hays Co deputies discovered the house next to Crow’s had been burglarized and a dog at that home had been killed.
Hays Co. Deputies are still investigating these crimes.
