Tyler, Texas PD responded to a "shots fired" call shortly after the New Year started.

The 22 year old BG was ordered multiple times to put down his revolver, but instead pointed it at the LEO.

The LEO fired at the BG, using his rifle (AR-15??). The BG died.

Officers found 50 expended shells at the scene, and evidence that the house was related to gang activity.

Too bad, so sad. NOT. The LEO lived while the probable repeat offender did not.

LEO fired his "patrol rifle" but if I had done the same thing it would be "assault rifle." Why?

Noticed the same thing when I was in the Army. If a story was good we were referred to as soldiers, if it was bad they called us G.I.'s.

Texas media. Nationwide it would be a gunmen and the term assault rifle would have been used incorrectly..

The BG would be the victim.

That is true......and the victim was just about to get his life turned around when he was gunned down by a deranged officer that was having a bad day that was armed with a assault rifle that was just like the one used in Sandy Hook.

Hmmm, 50 expended shells and BG with a revolver, eh? I wonder how long it took the LEO's to get to gangbanger HQ?

I would suspect the other shells were from the previous shots being fired NOT the exchange between the LEO and the BG.
