Pellet guns are not toys. The upper end Benjamins and Sheridans in .20 and .22 caliber are about as potent as a .22 cal rifle, especially at close range.

Wow! We used to play tag with BB guns when I was a kid. You could load those with either BB's or pellets, but we always used BB's because the pellets hurt a lot more. Some days I find it amazing that I even survived childhood....

Very tragic. Airguns are weapons as this incident shows. I was at my cousins shop yesterday and he showed me his air rifle, which shoots a 30 gr pellet about 950 fps.
Lewis and Clark used them on their trek to explore and map America.

Yeah, but those old Daisy air rifles were doing 350-400 fps. The new Gamo and other high end air rifles are doing 1400 fps with PBA ammo.

This might explain why the pellet gun was so deadly. Its near the bottom.
