Police said she complied with the suspect the man still shot her in the leg
Seems like another example of why compling dosn't = safest option for dealing with armed robbers.

Carry on body all day/every day. That's my motto.
Armed not dangerous but potentially lethal.

My first thought...Don't take out your trash at 12:30am, especially if you're a 20 something female. :headscratch Glad she wasn't hurt more seriously or killed.

While prudent advice, it can be taken as "blaming the victom". Maybe she works nights and had to take the trash out prior to leaving for work. It would have been a happier ending if they had to transport the perp to the morgue with a double tap to the chest, but I am happy she will live.

I have attempted to get several young ladies to arm themselves, but it just seems that most prefer to live without thinking about anything like this happening to them. My daughter is the exceptsion, but she still has a couple years to go before she can obtain a license.

Some people will never see the need until they actually see the need. Hopefully i won't be too late for them. What's worse is those who don't see the need for themselves AND you! :mad5

I'm a guy who works nightshift and indeed, sometimes things like taking out the trash have to be done well after dark. And it seems that many folks don't want to be reminded that we live in a world where bad things can happen to good folks through no fault of their own. They prefer the "rose-colored glasses" view. Good on your daughter (and you, I'd imagine) for her realistic viewpoint at a young age.
