Church Assault / Death- Fort Worth

#1

Post by gthaustex »

Unfortunately, it seems that churches are getting more popular with the bad guy crowd these days....and this just after the shooting in Georgia at Creflo Dollar's church where they were arguing that they didn't need concealed carry in Georgia churches because they always had police officers doing traffic duty and acting as bodyguards for everyone....

Link to FW assault:

Sigh....

Edited to be assault instead of shooting- I saw another report that called it a shooting on a different website. I grabbed the WFAA link since they were local and didn't read the article....that'll teach me.

Shooting? Says he was beaten with a guitar.

You can't inflict terror if your victims shoot back. :tiphat:

It says the pastor was fatally beaten with a guitar. There are lots of crazy, evil people in this world.

JMRA,

You are correct. I saw this posted on a different site where they said it was a shooting death. I grabbed the link from WFAA since they are local to the area, but didn't read their story first, figuring the original site had it correct. However, it is still sad that the pastor was killed. It also shows that even in churches, we can't depend on the police to act as bodyguards for all of us....

Hmmm? It must have been a 'heavy metal' guitar?

I drive past this church all the time. It is less than 5 miles from my home. Forest Hill is an area with a lot of hard working people and unfortunately also some that follow the path of crime and drugs. This guy's wife was a member of the church, but he had reportedly never even met the pastor. He had a long history of criminal behavior and mental illness. His family noticed he was having problems the past couple of days, but had no clue he would do something like this. There is a strong suspicion he was high on something as well. The pastor was a much loved member of this community and will be missed. I have seen him often wave at anyone driving by, myself included. He had grown his church and done a lot to raise the young men of the community up out of despair and drugs. My prayers go to his family and flock.
