This happened a couple of days ago in St. Louis. An University of Toledo Med student working in St. Louis was robbed at gun point then shot once in the face. She's in critical but stable condition.

Besides this being a horrible act of violence, here's an interesting quote:

“In all these cases, the victims cooperated and they were still shot,” St. Louis police Lt. Col. Lawrence O'Toole told the Post-Dispatch.

So much for just handing over your money. Hopefully she'll make a full recovery while the scumbag rots.

This is another example of why I won't leave my well being dependent upon the good will or judgment of some dirtball robber.

Seems like I read stories throughout the year where the victims complied with demands but were shot or stabbed anyway. The bad guys may simply not want to "leave a witness" or maybe they just do it to build up their "cred" or out of some sick, twisted idea of "fun"...whatever the reason, though, I agree with you. Putting YOUR life in THEIR hands just isn't smart.
