An unknown number of people walked into a Florida VFW post this morning and opened fire, killing two and wounding one.

Is 'demon rum' served in a VFW post?

Usually not outside. Maybe they came from a church.

The shooting occurred Sunday. It seems to have been the latest episode in an ongoing dispute involving motorcycle clubs. There are multiple "clubs" claiming the name Warlock in Florida.

You meet the nicest people on a Honda bike. Or maybe not.

Grown men acting like teenage hooligans fighting over turf.

I love to ride my V-twin (Suzuki) but never cared for any motorcycle club.

I've read it here before; don't go to dumb places, don't hang out with dumb people, and don't do dumb things.

I wouldn't rush to call the VFW "dumb," nor is Sunday morning after dawn a bad time to be out.

Unfortunately, it's difficult to predict what will attract thugs or lunatics. In this case it seems to have been fighting over the name "Warlocks." I guess trademark law was too complicated for them.

BTW, gang names and colors are dangerous territory. I vaguely remember an incident where some kids in the Chicago area were calling themselves 26, which is the name of a vicious Mexican gang. The actual gang members became annoyed with "unauthorized" graffiti and administered some street justice.

While I agree the VFW on a Sunday morning isn't a dumb place and time, it only takes one of the three (people, place, activity) to get into truble. I believe biker gangs satisfies two, people and activity.
