An arrest affidavit says Myers apparently pointed a gun at the victim's head to scare him and stop the hiccups. Myers allegedly thought the gun had dummy rounds when it discharged.

Some parents say it is toy guns that make boys warlike. But give a boy a rubber duck and he will seize its neck like the butt of a pistol and shout "Bang!"......George Will

This reminds me of the story about some hunters in California sitting around a campfire [drinking of course] one night. A beetle climbed onto one fellow's knee and he decided the best way to remove the little bug was with his S&W Model 29. RIP

When I got to Ft Stewart GA in the early 90’s, we had two new recruits who had just returned from CIF (central issue facility) and received their TA-50 (Army issued equipment for you non Army folks). They began arguing over their flack vest being bullet proof. Not having a weapon and ammo, they decided that if it could stop a knife it would stop a bullet. One donned his freshly issued flack vest and the other proceeded to jab a Kbar into his heart killing him almost instantly.
The next morning we had a safety briefing by the 1st Sergeant who explained to the entire company that a Flack vest will not stop bullets or knives, it was designed to protect against fragments from artillery and grenades.
