We got a Maroon alert text about this and i just found the story above.

An active shooter near Welborn Rd and George Bush / Luther.

It appears that the shooter is shooting from a house with automatic weapons.

Edited to add, if you have 5.0 Radio Brazos EMS this is going to be a big deal. Lots of folks shot. At least one reported dead on scene.

Prayers for the officers

Scanner traffic indicates that at least two officers are down.

Wow, looks like a bad situation.

Hope the cops pull through, and I'm glad they managed to arrest this guy instead of him getting the easy way out through suicide. I hope he rots in jail.

If this had happened next week, it would have been really chaotic. Move in week always has insane traffic, tons of out of town folks, etc.....the only positive is this happened after Summer Graduation and before Fall semester. One of the quietest times in town.

thanks ... I get kbtx in the mornings till 9 am, but don't have scanner antennas up yet.

I need to get scanner and a wi-fi antennaes mounted (25 mile wi-fi range)

If you're referring to GigAg, I believe he works for another agency in the area.

I'm sure he knows the guys involved though and may have been part of the response, so I hope he's doing okay.

Yes, that is him, thank you. I have never met him obviously, but was concerned for him as soon as I heard this story breaking. Again, prayers go ou to everyone involved here!

None of the news is saying it but this may have been mutiple LEO's out to serve a warrant at some shady apartments in that area. Apparently the guy went nuts on them.

heard about thins at work about an hour ago. Makes me sick.
