Driveway Robbery: BG Misfires 3 Times!

#1

Post by Jumping Frog »

This guy was robbed at gunpoint while getting out of the car in his driveway (apparently the BG followed him home -- the situational awareness is a different issue).

He gives up his wallet. After giving the wallet, the BG shoots at him three different times but all three are misfires. I am sure that "click" was the best sound the homeowner ever heard!

This is all caught on video, posted in the article linked here: http://www.mercurynews.com/breaking-new ... ured-video" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

This is one example why I do not ascribe to the "just give them the money, it isn't worth taking a life for a few dollars" theory.

I will not knowingly entrust my well-being to the judgment and decision making process of a predatory felon.

Here is your media idiocy on stimulants:
The mugging, occurred about 3:15 a.m. Friday,... just a few blocks from Jack London Elementary School...
Obviously many school children were in danger at 3:15 a.m during summer vacation.
"We have regular strong-arm and armed robberies on a weekly, almost daily basis," [a police spokesman] said. "But there's no telling where this type of thing's going to happen:
Nice neighborhood.

As for the firearm malfunction, this kind of thing is not uncommon. Criminals can't just walk into a gun store and buy what they want. They often are stuck with hand-me-downs from thefts or gangsters unloading a hot weapon. Also they generally don't know jack about how to use or maintain a firearm (or anything else). I remember one case where the robber tried to shoot and the slide fell off the pistol.

He should be glad the BG didn't just try to pistol whip him to death

Too bad victim wasn't a CHL holder.....could have shown him how a functioning firearm works.

I wonder if there was a round in the chamber. Whether this was truly a "misfire" where the round in the chamber didn't go off when the trigger was pulled, or just pure stupidity will probably never be known, but it will always be a misfire in the minds of those unknowing or unquestioning who just take the video and the reporter's words at face value. The BG never once racks the slide.

I also get a kick out of: after he closes the door in the BG's face, the BG holds the gun against the door jamb, but practices excellent trigger discipline by not putting his trigger finger in the trigger guard without a target.
