Gun laws seem no worse than Texas, overall, and I hear the concealed handgun license application process is easy at the King County Sheriff's Office downtown.

Personally, I encountered no problems carrying in the Seattle area earlier this month, and the only place posted off limits was the visitor center at Mount Rainier.

Sad to say but these sort of things happen in places like Houston and Dallas too.

Seattle is in Washington state which last time I look does not accept Texas CHL along with California and Oregon. All Red on the reciprocity map.

It has been a few years since I've been there, but I thought they did not recognize our license either.

Seattle is not gun-free. Apparently, when ex-Mayor Greg Nickels (and "Mayors Against Illegal Guns member) thought he was above state law, he tried to ban guns from a lot of places and failed. Guess what his reward was for his anti second amendment stance? PRESTO! President Obama declared his to be an alternate UN representative who will represent the "US interests" in the Small Arms Treaty.

Washington does not recognize Texas CHL because of us allowing people under 21 to have a CHL. Texas unilaterally recognizes the WA Concealed Pistol License, which only requires a background check (no training, no live fire test).
I don't fear guns; I fear voters and politicians that fear guns.
