A horrible yet not unique situation.
The takeaway is that anyone forced to file a protective order should arm themselves and not assume that a piece of paper is all-powerful.

Protective orders are a lot like gun- free zones and gun control as far as the bad guys.

Some chilling details have emerged about the HCSO not taking a gun threat seriously.

It would seem that tle local law wasted no time as far as jailing an honor student for missing a few days of school yet chose not to act on the husband putting a gun to the wife's head.
Pathetic, yet very typical for law enforcement.
