I usually wear a pistol when I go some place "safe" I don't go to "bad parts of town" neither did those people in their front yards

That sounds like a Mafia style hit out of the movies.

It doesn't sound like a "random" shooting.

When I was a young and didn't feel like I could be told what to do, my Mamma was up very often past midnight praying until I'd walk thru the door. Then she'd go to bed. Often wondered what horrible fate those long hours of prayer saved me from.
