Guy Pulls Gun to Rob Two Undercover Cops, Gets Shot to Death

An armed guy with a bandana over his face picked the worst two people to try to rob last night: two undercover Houston cops.
...
When the robber pulled out his gun and demanded money, HPD says the two cops, "fearing for their safety, discharged their duty weapons and exchanged gunfire with the suspect."

What we have here is a failure of the victim selection process...

Interesting comment by the reporter writing the article:
"It doesn't appear to have been a fair gunfight -- neither of the officers were hit."

It was so unfair, the robber died at the scene.

This was the first comment that came to mind when I saw the title.

Interesting comment by the reporter writing the article:
"It doesn't appear to have been a fair gunfight -- neither of the officers were hit."
Those two words don't belong in the same sentence together.

Depending on the ethnicity of the robber, we may hear later about how the police "overreacted".

I seriously doubt the writer really thinks the cops are supposed to take a hit from an armed robber. This is a snarky column in an "alternative" newspaper.

Here are two legitimate news stories about this incident. The first one contains a lot more details.

http://www.click2houston.com/news/HPD-M ... /bnpo54/-/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The robbery victims were three cops. They initially complied with the robber. As the situation deteriorated, two cops shot him.

The same man is a suspect in a robber that occurred nearby minutes earlier.

For trying to rob three able-bodied adult men, even if it was in a bad neighborhood after midnight, I nominate the deceased for a Darwin award, bronze level, with a notation for not being able to recognize narcotics officers.

Is it now gauche or politically incorrect to put notches on the grip of your gun? :headscratch How would two officers work that out? How do you make half a notch? "rlol"

Did a lady in a fancy cowboy hat say the victim was chased down like a rabid dog?

Please define this acronym. The only NRH I know is the City of North Richland Hills, in Tarrant County, near Fort Worth.

TIA / SIA
