On Friday, March 16, 2012, the Desoto, Texas (it's in Dallas County) PD received multiple burglary
reports. A Desoto PD officer spotted a Ford F-150 with the stolen items in its bed.
He initiated a stop, but began a struggle with the suspect. The officer tried using his Taser on the bad
guy, but the wires hit the truck and gave a slight shock to the LEO. The LEO seems a little on the small
side, and was unable to detain the suspect.
I thought the LEO might draw his service weapon to shoot the fleeing suspect's tires, but that didn't happen.
A chase ensued. The BG ran a red light and his F-150 was demolished by a cement truck. The suspect was
taken to the hospital but died of the traffic accident's trauma. Karma is a cruel mistress.
This happened about 540 AM. I can speculate that the cement truck was going to the first pour of the day,
and likely had a full load on board.
