Just read it was a female officer and she shot him with a revolver.
Too bad legally armed citizens were banned from carrying their handguns in a college, or it may have been stopped before he got outside on the sidewalk for the LEO.

Good for her. I didn't know that any LEOs still carried revolvers.

I saw one a couple of months ago. He was one of the senior Plano officers. I commented on the fact that the Model 66 was my first duty weapon. He said that the one he was carrying is the same one he was issued 32 years ago; just has different grips.

My guess is that revolvers are less likely to fail. Simpler operation, less moving parts.

I saw a Houston police officer carrying a revolver, and commented it was unusual to see a revolver on duty anymore. He said he had enough service that when Houston converted to a semiauto, officers were allowed to be grandfathered as approved for revolvers. New officers coming on board after that time have to carry the semiauto. I would suspect a similar story in many jurisdictions.
