I'm assuming that no CHL would have been required if the crime took place on the victim's property.

Investigators said two men knocked on a door in the 4800 block of Knights Branch about 10 p.m. on Monday night. A woman who answered the door screamed and told her father about the two men, officials said.

The time to tell her father about the two men is BEFORE she opened the door. This could have turned out badly.

That report sounds odd. I am stuck on the part about the two guys being armed, knocking on the door and then running off because the man says to leave.

I am not saying something did not happen. I am just saying it seems like the information is incomplete.

There is no mention of the father having a gun - - - the woman answered the door no mention of opening the door maybe she looked out the window or a peep hole. Strange the two armed men left when the father told them to. No CHL is needed on your own property or on property you have control of. I'm thinking there were some details omitted.

I just saw this story and came to post it before noticing this thread.
Our first home was literally around the corner on Foxland Chase.

The story seemed odd to me as well. The men were 'only' about 4 feet inside their home after she darted off? Were they just standing there waiting for her to come back with the cash?? Very odd.

It looks like he did stop it. The story says, " The thieves did not make off with anything, and no one was injured." That looks like a happy ending to me.
