CHL turns petty theft into felony robbery

Happened in Ohio. A 22 year-old CHL shoplifts some earrings at Macy's and gets caught by loss prevention people.
Unarmed petty theft would have been a misdemeanor with a 30 day maximum jail time.
Since he was armed, he was charged with felony robbery. It has a maximum of 8 years and a $15,000 fine.

I hope they throw the book at him. Whatever progress we've made recently has been based on the premise that we're the good guys, and I've gotta say that even as someone who's only been carrying for less than two years it stings a bit whenever I hear of a CHL holder getting in
any kind of trouble.

Story is missing something - having a concealed gun doesn't meet the elements of robbery.
