A guy interrupts some thugs burglarizing cars on the streets and he gets rushed by them. Once again those who say "always go to the door armed" are validated.

...command voice just didn't carry much weight, did it...I don't open my front door to get the mail one arms' length away without being armed...trouble never makes an appointment...

on seeing the video I have to say... Stupid homeowner.
Bursting out there like he's a tough guy... unarmed. When a couple of gang-bangers are breaking into cars. Stupid.
Personally, if its on the street. My best bet is to call the police and be the best witness possible. I've had to do it before back when I lived in Southern California, the longer the BGs think they're undetected the more time the police have to show up and bust them.

Ditto. Going all the way out to confront them was stupid, especially unarmed.

I have to admit I did something similar about 13 years ago.
We slept in a bedroom on the 2nd flooor overlooking the street, window open for the breeze when weather permitted.
Wife woke me up in the wee hours hearing noises outside. 3 doors down and across the street I saw two young males bent over a pickup door trying to jimmy the latch.
I walked down to the front porch in my white bathroobe after telling my wife to call the police.
When I heard glass break I whistled. They turned around and saw me, then headed to their car at a trot.
Turned out the car was parked directly across from me. I stood and watched them, and they glared as they went by.
That was about the time I remembered the Rem 870 upstairs :banghead:
Thankfully they got in their car and bugged out.

Neighbor got out with a broken window. he had no insurance on that car, so he was very thankful.
I'm glad now it went well, but I should have armed myself.

Now that I've watched the video...did the homeowner actually get injured?

The little thug with the knife (I guess) reminds me of one of those scared little dogs that will run up and bite your ankle from behind but runs and cowers when you turn and make eye contact. Homeowner was lucky.

Fox 4 said the BG was "screaming obscenities and slashing him with an unknown object" and the homeowner only received minor injuries.

That homeowner should have saved back some of the money spent on those 11 cameras and bought a gun. "rlol" Incomplete planning all around . . .
