Woman was with baby when the scum bags broke in! Not sure how they differentiate between a home invasion and a burglary….

Is there even an offense called "Home invasion"? I think burglary covers it:
PC 30.02 wrote:BURGLARY. (a) A person commits an offense if, without the effective consent of the owner, the person:
(1) enters a habitation, or a building (or any portion of a building) not then open to the public, with intent to commit a felony, theft, or an assault; or
(2) remains concealed, with intent to commit a felony, theft, or an assault, in a building or habitation; or
(3) enters a building or habitation and commits or attempts to commit a felony, theft, or an assault.

All semi auto rifles are Assault Rifles (I thought assault described a behavior) and home burglary is Home Invasion. Sounds much more dramatic, attracts viewers/readers and increases ratings. Follow the money.
(And of course there is the MSM bias against weapons that automatically gets built in to the story.)
