The above link details how a 90 year old WWII vet, and ex-LEO, got into a gunfight with a much younger burglar.

The story states that the GG fired his .38 revolver 3 times and hit the burglar in the torso.
It doesn't state how many of the 3 rounds hit the burglar.

Unfortunately the GG was struck in the face by a bullet from the burglar's semi-automatic handgun (brand/model unknown).
The vet had been in good health prior to the gunfight and may well recover from his wound.
