On about may 5, 2010 my apt was broken into and 7 guns were stolen.
Today I check tha mail and have a letter from a detective in Antioch CA saying they recovered my G34 in a criminal investigation.
The down side I can't call til the 9th due to him being on vacation ...
I'm also curious as to how easy it will be for me to get my gun back from Kali

Probably wont get it back. Being in CA, they will probably say it is evidence in the crime and will have to remain in their possesion until a trial occurs at which point it will become lost or stolen again. Thats how the anti's work

It shouldn't be a problem, they are trying to get rid of all of the guns in the state.

My guess is that even if they send you the gun, they won't send you the magazine back. It's a 17 round magazine, and that would be illegal in California where they have a mandated 10 round limit on magazine capacity.

Well, it probably doesn't have the 17 round mag anyway; I'm sure whoever took it to California made sure to swap it out for a 10 round so they were legal

Ouch.
That's a lot of guns to lose.
Curious if your insurance covered them?

Are you an NRA member? You are covered at no additional cost under the membership up to $2500 coverage for loss if you activated it

I called the detective. I got mostly good news. He SIS say I may have to wait a few months due to the current investigation.
I won't go to far into the details if the investigation.
No one was shot with my gun but the guy found with it is a known felon .....there was a drive by shooting hence the on going investigation.
The det is trying to get my gun released before the trial ....he said it is very possible....
The det is VERY PRO GUN.
Also said they will most likely just ship it to my ffl when it is released without me needing to go out there.
My gun is still in good condition and still has the fiber optic sights on it.
