Occupy Lubbock - CHL Related Incident

#1

Post by threoh8 »

Protesters object to counterprotest, chase pickup, police called, protester arrested on warrants. Developing story, already changing.

"One protester opened a door of the pickup and saw one of the truck’s occupants pointing a gun at him."
The radio reports have someone inside the truck opening the door. There is also a report that the person with the gun was licensed and was not arrested.

More. Apparently the door swung open of its own accord.

These Occupy losers are walking arguments for CHL, and their kind may very well be more of a threat down the road.

I love how the article says telling them to occupy a job was an insult. The reporter's Liberal bias clearly shows.

If im reading this correctly , I LOVE IT !

so protester decides that his opinion is the only one that matters and should be heard so he decided to chase down and open the vehicle door of a citizen practicing the same rights as him ? what was he going to do to the man if he hadn't seen he was armed ? then he calls the cops because he is completely innocent ......except for thoses 3 warrants ! which im sure he protested after he occupied a jail cell :cryin

I was just reading the comments and read one that said the CHL holder got cited for displaying his firearm.

Somebody wants to occupy Lubbock?

BTW, here is my response on the occupy website. We'll see if they choose to publish it.

That's hard to understand, especially inside a vehicle that's considered "castle" under Texas Law.

My MS Paint skills leave something to be desired, but I too left a comment. I won't hold my breath to see if they post it.

I don't know. I read the comment again and the poster obviously doesn't know what he's talking about. He is under the impression that a CHL cannot be revoked.

If the Occupy loser...I mean protester opened the door with occupants inside as the article states, then the Castle Doctrine would apply maybe. The Castle Doctrine states...(A) unlawfully and with force entered, or was attempting to enter unlawfully and with force, the actor’s occupied habitation, vehicle, or place of business or employment;

HOWEVER, it also states...(2) did not provoke the person against whom the force was used;..., so since they were on the loudspeaker of the truck yelling at the protesters, then they were provoking them. So, the police may decide that one cancels out the other, and then decide to cite the person in the truck and let the DA or Judge figure it out.

You'd never see anything remotely like this happen at Tea Party rally.

As much as we might want to taunt them, the smart thing is to stay away from them. They want nothing more than a skirmish with people like us from which they can claim "martyrdom".

As CHL's, we are taught to avoid trouble and picking fights even more than we would otherwise, with this all being a good example of why that is so.
