Another win for the good guys. Good thing the first thing on his mind was to grab the gun before they broke the door in. I wonder if he'll replace it with a sturdier door? Something reinforced maybe?

...this kind of response is the only way to slow 'em down...the sooner folks make up their minds and prepare...the better...I know there's a lot attributed to "home invasion" that's much more...but I'm speaking about the true home invaders...they're already desperate and just threatening them is suicidal...superior force administered swiftly is the answer...

Good thing his gun was accessible because it sounds like he didn't have much time to react. An unloaded gun in a safe with a lock on the trigger would've been as useful as a toaster.

Three thoughts...
1. Firing to wound or scare seems to me to be a bad tactic.
2. So.... These guys I just shot/at know where I live. Am I safe or do I need to fear revenge?
3. At least I am alive to contemplate #1 and #2.
