Don't want to give away the video, but if you've played football (Real American football, AndyC  ) you may recall the term "clotheslined."

I see the ACLU in on this one. Officer should have used a tazer or bean bag, they would not have inflicted as much damage, lol. That was one sick take down. BG thought he could take out that officer by cutting back into him but the officer was ready and stuck that weapon neck high. Loved it.

Had to watch it a couple of time, looked like he fired a shot that bounced off the curb. I think he just had a flashlight on the rifle, made it look like a muzzle flash.

I think that was just his flashlight. I noticed it too, but I saw no rifle, only a flashlight.

That's gonna leave a mark....

heavy hit! that was beautiful.

As far as what the cop was holding, I think it was a short-barreled shotgun. Whatever it is, it is lashed to his body with one of those "tactical" slings. I stepped thru the video a click at a time as the cop falls, and it appears to me to have a short barrel (so might be an M-4 type rifle), but the butt stock appears to be angled downward like, for example, a Rem 870. Maybe it was a tear-gas launcher (since this started out as a barricade situation) but I would not think you would strap a launcher to your body. At least I wouldn't.

I was surprised to see that the suspect doesn't appear to have any injury as he is being led off. I would have thought a bloody nose or split lip at least.

Night stick, flashlight, or what not, great take down. No helmet,, no pads, and lands on the sidewalk and walks away. Makes you wonder why the NFL players can't hit anyone anymore.
