Very few men can pass as a woman. Most of those who can are working in the entertainment or personal services industries. Generally men who wear women's clothes are a farce.

It seems there is a trend to male criminals wearing women's clothes "on the job." I don't know where this got started. Maybe they teach it in the graduate school of criminal education. Maybe it is an attempt to distract victims and make it more difficult to identify the criminals in a lineup.

Anyway, in Aiken, South Carolina, this week, a man wearing a dress and carrying a purse tried to rob a jewelry store. The store owner gave him a surprise in the form of a load of lead. The alleged robber was arrested after he showed up at a hospital.

His alleged getaway driver, who apparently is a biological woman, was also arrested.

The store owner was shot but not seriously injured.

You can't make up this stuff. It's like "Fried Green Tomatoes."
Aiken Public Safety spokesperson Lt. David Turno said Fortenberry, who was wearing a flowered dress and carrying a purse, entered Porky Bradberry's Jewelry on Whiskey Rd. in Aiken around 1:00 p.m. Turno said the suspect put his purse down and pulled a gun on the store's owner...

Slightly off-topic, but that reminds me of a sort of mini-Scared Straight program that my high school had. We went on a visit to prison. I think some of the prisoners were set up to scare us into never wanting to be there (which worked for me).

In the prison exercise yard there was a person who looked like a fairly good-looking adult woman. The guard who was showing us around explained that was "Sally" or whatever name they used, and it actually was a man.

I had never seen anything like that. I didn't realize stuff like even happened in real life.
