LEWISVILLE (CBSDFW.COM) - Police in Lewisville are searching for three people who broke into a family’s home late on Wednesday night and tied up a mother. The incident happened just before midnight in the 600 block of Holfords Prairie Road

possibly a case of mistaken location?

once they were in and realized they had the wrong house, they bolted?

1) Why would anyone come to knock on your back door, ESPECIALLY strangers?

2) This tells me there is a strong possibility that she knew them and opened the door for that reason.

When I worked in the security business I installed a camera intercom system for a woman who preferred people come to her back door. It was off of the kitchen and for some reason she would rather have them come there than to her front door. Maybe this woman had the same preference.

Understandable. However, the majority of the people that would do that are friends/acquaintances as she would have relayed that info to them. A stranger would not know this. Unless, she posted a sign or something on the front door stating to please use the back door.

My in-laws are are the same. They have a atrium door to their carport and everyone comes and goes from there because it enters the family room. As it is, if someone comes to the main front door, then they know it is a stranger. Even the UPS drivers and postman knows to come to the door in the carport. They have thought many times about converting the carport to t a garage, but if they did, then everyone would have to come through the front door to the formal living room, which means they would have to walk a lot farther to let someone in.

On another note. Has anyone read Cooper's Color Codes?

Maybe this woman just lived her life in code white and was oblivious to the dangers around her and now is code black.
