The above link is an armed robbery which took place in a convenience store on Douglass Road (yes, 2 s's) in
Nacogdoches, Texas (East Texas, north of Lufkin).

The 3 robbers wore wigs/hoodies and their faces are not really shown.

The 3 of them rush into the store, overpower the Asian mother and daughter working there, and helped
themselves to approximately $2,000 in cash. It seems that this amount should not have been mentioned,
so that other BG's won't rob them.

What seems most unique about this is that the 1 BG who has a gun seems to have revolver with a very long
barrel, maybe 6-8"? It looks like the kind of revolver they use in comic plays where the flag that says "BANG"
drops down from the barrel.

Can anyone ID the handgun which was used?

Couldn't make out type of gun but the BG muzzle swept everyone didn't he? Even his partners in crime.

Wow, that young women seemed to be shoutin' and cursin' at the BG with the gun when while he pointed it at her!

For those of you that have watched the video, I pose this scenario involving law and tactics:

If a CHL was in the store and chose to draw and shoot at the suspects, I imagine Texas law would not find him/her
at fault for shooting all 3 suspects. Even though only 1 of the BG's can be seen with a firearm, it seems that all 3
represent a potential threat during an armed robbery.

It seems a presumption of threat from all 3 of the BG's would be there, so even if 2 of them were later found to be
unarmed, it would still be a "good shoot".

It appears to me the robber who entered last, who was wearing the gray and blue hoodie, also had a weapon of some sort, I am thinking a small semiauto, but hard to make out. He does not have anything in his hands when he enters, but after he engages the gal holding the mop, he to maybe draw something from underneath. As he and the mop lady wrestle, it appears he has something in his right hand -- rather than using his hand to control the woman, he holds it way out in front, and she appears to be trying to hold/control his right arm. When the struggle moves to the other end of the counter, he is still holding his right hand out in front, with her hanging on his right arm, and when the robber with the long barreled revovler pries her off of the blue/gray hoodie guy, it appears he has some dark object in his right hand, and maybe tries to stuff it in his pants as they run out. Might be nothing, but sure looks like he is holding something in that hand.

One feisty gal, that. I hope someone local steps up and offers her a free CHL course.

The gun appears to be the crook's favorite - - - the infamous "blue steel revolver."

The question about shooting all three robbers depends on the mindset of the local prosecutor and or grand jury.

Video clips like this are the reason I avoid "stop 'n robs" at night and during the daytime if at all possible.

The whole thing took about a minute. Big giveaway? Hoodies and moving fast. If you are in a "Stop-N-Rob" in the middle of the night keep an eye out on the front door. So if you see a hoodie moving fast toward the front door, you can expect to be in the middle of a robbery pretty quickly.

So what are you going to do?

Notice the bad guys didn't look around for any customers, but they may have been watching for a while and knew there were not any customers.

Before going in, surveillance of the store is appropriate, maybe drive around the store looking for someone that looks out of place. Observe the store for a few minutes prior to entering the store. Look across the street areas of darkness, cars parked across the street in parking lots of closed businesses. Is anyone watching the store?

If you are in the store and observe the hoodies moving towards the door to enter, move to a stock room and try to observe without being seen. Seek cover and get low. Look around things not over them, slice the pie.

If you are noticed, have them come to YOUR kill zone.

Consider distraction, throw a can of coke across the store, the noise away from your position may give you the element of surprise.

The objective is to get them to leave the store without harming you. You really don't want to try to take multiple suspects into any type of custody with no handcuffs, let alone the training to do so.

These people were stupid to have $2K in the store. Someone knew and told the crooks. Have a plan and then practice the plan.
