A customer at a convenience store tried to hold the entrance door closed to trap robbers inside. He was shot through the door as the 2 men left the store.

Not a smart move. Once they are fleeing and the danger is over, let them go.

I really can't see trying to hold a glass door closed against two bad guys even if they weren't armed. This was not this poor fellow's best self defense move.
