TN: Suspect assaults officer, steals police car

In Cleveland, Tennessee (northeast of Chattanooga), an officer stopped a woman who was walking on the interstate with two children. The female suspect slashed the officer with a knife and drove off in his cruiser, leaving the children. The officer shot at and wounded her. The wounded suspect ran into a tree and later died.

No motive is known

In a completely unrelated incident in the same county, a deputy ran into a runaway cow. The deputy had to be extracted from the wrecked car and taken to the hospital.

The cow died.
