Thanksfully this jerk was caught based on this video being played on all the Austin TV news stations - he was apparently turned in by his "buddies"

For purposes of relating to the CHL theme of this forum, I don't think there is enough time to draw a gun and try to "stop" this crime in progress, even if you're a bystander and see it go down right in front of you. The assault and theft is over and done with in a matter of seconds. Once he has the purse and is fleeing, there is no logner an immediate threat of imminent harm to the woman - the harm has already been done and the criminal is fleeing.

What say you?

I say he is a fleeing felon and it's night time, so it would be a good shoot. I doubt I would though my biggest concern would be whether or not the lady is OK.

Thank God they got that jerk! Its eye opening to see that even the best gun application could not have helped here.
The day Fox7 ran the report I emailed it to my wife to remind her that her best defense is be aware of her surroundings. We love to feel like nothing will ever happen to us and we let our guard down.

Good lesson in Condition White versus Yellow, then Orange, then Red.
