Dickinson: Hit-and-run arrest gets interesting

In Dickinson Sunday a hit-and-run collision without injuries was reported on FM 517 east of I-45 (this is a suburban semi-rural road). A witness followed the suspect's vehicle until police located it. The driver refused to stop. The driver then lost control of the vehicle, jumped a curb, and hit a second vehicle.
While police were processing the scene, the driver of the second vehicle that was hit assaulted the hit-and-run suspect.
The hit-and-run suspect was booked on charges of felony evading arrest, DWI, and failure to stop and give information. The driver who assaulted the first suspect was charged with assault causing bodily injury.
All allegedly, reportedly, etc.
