FYI - Bridgewater State Hospital is the only site in the Commonwealth of
Massachusetts where psych patient suspects can be evaluated.

It's also the site for sexually dangerous convicts, and I believe that they
have a "general population" section also.

This is the prison where Albert DeSalvo, the alleged Boston Strangler, was
incarcerated. He was killed by another inmate.

During my senior year in high school, our Sociology class toured Bridgewater
State Hospital. Many of my classmates wore their mini-skirts on this excursion.

Not too smart when we were walking through areas where the bug-eyed inmates
who were out of their cells probably consisted of some sex offenders.

Circa 1965, there was a documentary film made at Bridgewater, entitled
"Titicut Follies". Titicut is the neighborhood of Bridgewater/Middleboro, Mass.
where the prison is located. This movie was approved to be made, but was later
banned for showing in all of Mass since it showed callous abuse of prisoners.

It was such a controversial movie that Boston people were going the 220 miles to NYC to
see it.
