Last November at a gas station in Houston, Samuel Irick intervened when a man pulled a gun on a woman and grabbed her purse. The gunman shot Irick, 24, in the chest before fleeing with the purse. The woman was unharmed, but Irick was rushed to the hospital, where he died.
