CA: Very rough justice

In Santa Clara, California (Silicon Valley), in 2001 a woman named Jeanine Harms disappeared. She was presumed murdered, but no body has been found.

Investigators identified one Maurice Nasmeh as the most likely suspect, but they could not develop a case against him.

Last weekend, the 52-year-old brother of the victim, Wayne Sanchez, encountered Mr. Nasmeh in a shopping mall and the two men had some words. Mr. Sanchez went to his vehicle and then returned to find Mr. Nasmeh.

Mr. Sanchez fatally shot Mr. Nasmeh, then fatally shot himself.

The DA announced that the investigation into the disappearance of Ms. Harms will continue, but I doubt it will be a priority.

Please don't bother responding "this couldn't have happened in California." Mr. Sanchez had jumped through all the hoops to legally own a revolver.
