In Fort Smith, Arkansas, a man was allegedly shot by his ex-wife while he was sleeping on December 10 and did not notice for two weeks.

An acquaintance told him that his ex-wife had shot him through a window.

Bullet holes and spend bullets were found in the man's house, and a .380 shell was found outside.

The ex was charged with aggravated assault.

Thank God she was a lousy shot. Sounds like he was grazed with the bullet ending up on the other side of a wall. Lucky to be alive and well. :clapping:

I read about an attempted (and ultimately completed) murder in Austin some years ago wherein the victim suddenly awoke to find his abdomen ripped open. He and paramedics thought at first it had something to do with recent abdominal surgery coming unglued, but eventually someone found a shotgun hull on the bedroom floor. It turned out that his wife had talked another woman into shooting him and let her in while he was sleeping. The woman shot him with a shotgun and escaped; he did not consciously register the shot, he just woke up and found his guts exposed. He eventually died from his wound.

Things like this and the OP would not be believable in novel...

Isn't Jeff Cooper quoted as saying something like

Don't buy a .380, because if you do, you might be tempted to carry it.

If you carry it, you might be tempted to use it, and you might someday shoot a goblin with it. Then, if he finds out, he'll be really angry.

It's true that the .380 ACP is not a big-game round, but people have survived through wounds even with large rifle rounds. To paraphrase someone, caliber is fine but shot placement is final.

:iagree: nothing better than shot placement. thirty rounds doesnt matter if you can't put them in the right spot.

If I'm reading this right, you're saying that size does not matter?
