In Chicago Monday around 6:30 p.m. in the 2900 block of West Seipp on the southwest side, a 15-year veteran Chicago police officer was found shot to death in his personal vehicle. His firearm was still holstered and his wallet was not taken. No suspect has been identified and no motive is known.

According to the ABC video, five Chicago police officers have been killed this year. Looks like the bad guys are winning up there.

Several hundred gang members and hangers-on have been killed, mostly by other gang members. Unfortunately, a police officer requires a more lengthy education than a gang member.

An 18-year-old misguided choirboy was charged yesterday with the killing of the officer.

According to police, the motive was stealing the officer's extensive gun collection. The suspect reportedly was acquainted with the officer that he allegedly killed and had been in the officer's home.

The planned theft was never accomplished.

Criminals who kill police officers in Chicago tend not to do well in jail. They have a bad habit of falling down stairs while handcuffed and that sort of unfortunate accident.
