In Howard, Ohio (middle of nowhere), the sheriff stated that an unusual amount of blood found in the home of a woman who is missing along with her two children and a friend might indicate foul play.
"Someone was obviously injured in the house,... The reason there is a focus on the blood is because there is an unusual about of blood in that house. It isn't from someone stubbing they're toe or cutting they're [sic] finger while peeling an apple."

Seriously, the authorities are treating this as a kidnapping and pulling out all the stops.

Authorities found the bodies of two women and one boy inside a hollow tree near Mount Vernon, Ohio.

They say the victims were killed in the home where the blood was found, and one teenage girl was kidnapped.

The "suspect" is a convicted felon described as an "out of work tree trimmer."

R.I.P. The surviving girl needs our prayers, too.

They found the family's min pin dog also dead along with the family's remains in the tree. The police think this guy had watched the family for some time. We are all creatures of habit and it does not take long for someone watching us to know when we sleep and our daily habits. He managed to gain entry to the home and overpower/kill two adult women. I am sure they felt safe in their home. These things are thankfully rare, but they are why at least one gun is always in close proximity to me at all times even inside my own home. My heart goes out to the families of the slain and to the surviving young girl. What a terrible burden she will carry through life because of this scum. :mad5
