Man and woman in car, woman dead from gunshot wound to head, car ends up on side of road, passerby stops his car to help (likely thinking this an car accident) and male suspect fires shots at good Samaritan, whose face is cut from flying glass when his car windows are shot out. This passerby calls 911, gives description, Cedar Park PD on scene lightning fast and apprehends suspect on adjoining road.
No idea at this point if the suspect and female victim knew each other, but obvious assumption is they were in the car together when she was shot.

Wish Cedar Park was as safe as we thought it was 20 years ago....

I am not and have never been a LEO. My avatar is in honor of my friend, Dallas Police Sargent Michael Smith, who was murdered along with four other officers in Dallas on 7.7.2016.

It can happen anywhere at anytime to anybody, you just never know. I reckon that's how the expression "carry 24/7 or guess right" came about?

Wow. I'm glad the suspect was apprehended quickly.

See?
If State Representative for Williamson County Diana Maldonado had already collected all the guns in Cedar Park, this sort of thing couldn't happen.

Did that man not know he was supposed to turn it in at the "Gun Buyback" in Austin?
Apparently they need more advertising.

Looking at this from the "second" car's viewpoint, it is a great example that you should always be cautious when entering an unknown situation (rendering aid). Here this person thought he was helping a car crash victim, but was actually entering an active shooter situation.
Be careful out there.
