In Newfoundland, Canada, in 2006, a 45-year-old American woman from Pennsylvania allegedly shot her husband to death while bear hunting. The shooting occurred at dusk.

The crown charged her with manslaughter or negligent homicide (I'm not clear on the details of Canadian law). After a trial that was highly publicized in Canada and Pennsylvania, the defendant was found not guilty.

Maybe a good excuse for a full body wax if you have so much hair you look like a bear.

Bottom line, sounds like a very unfortunate accident. It all falls back to knowing your target before firing. :banghead:

The Crown has 30 days to appeal the verdict?

Guess "double jeopardy" means something else in Canada, eh?
