Wow another tragedy. What’s crazy is there is a video going around where the perp was pretending to be a sheriffs officer and tried to get students to open the door. He made a critical mistake though. He used the word “bro” when talking and they knew it couldn’t be a sheriff using that language. Smart kids to pick up on that.
They should just dispatch this piece of crap on the spot.

Video has not been confirmed.
Edit: Confirmed this was actually a deputy sheriff, not the shooter.
Shooter apparently trying to get students to come out in the hall saying he is a deputy sheriff. Good job students. “ he said bro”.
Parents of shooter have lawyered up.

Gun purchased by Dad on Black Friday 4 days before.
Social media posts of gun, count down clock, etc. by teen.
Parents kept kids home that day due to risk. But no one told school or police.

Hmmmmm Making a firearm accessible to a child (under 17) without supervision is a Class C Misdemeanor in Texas and then, if the child discharges the firearm and injures or kills someone, the adult can be charged with a Class A Misdemeanor, but there are exceptions. The second part is probably not strong enough in my opinion, but it is still a criminal charge. Wonder if Michigan has a similar law

A 4th student has died.
One football player student attempted to disarm the shooter and was murdered by the shooter. There is a petition to rename the school stadium after him.

Two words could have prevented this. GUN SAFE If you have young kids or teens and don't keep your guns locked up, YOU ARE AN IDIOT who doesn't belong owning firearms.
