As for the US President, there have been multiple attempts and successful assassinations. Thats just how it is now.
Yes, I acknowledged that...though no reported attempts on The One so far (but then Biden probably makes him bullet proof)....and my point was that when there were real attempts back in Teddy's time, people stood right in front of the Prez armed, sometimes even shooting guns into the air; and during a war on US soil, Abraham Lincoln spoke to people who walked in off the street, with no filtering or protection. Now, in our "no risk allowed" society (except for us proles of course) people are worried about finger pointing and talking about possibly being killed for pointing a FINGER at the president. I just don't happen to find that to be a fine reflection on the character of our country.
