I seem to be in the minority, but I'm a little uncomfortable with both the firing and the prosecution. To me it looked like they were following an established policy. It's hard to believe they did something like this without command approval in one form or another. If so, their punishment, if any, should be light in comparison to whomever made the policy.

I don't remember, but if so, that is more evidence they were following an established policy, and again, if so, then those policy makers need to be the ones who draw the most severe punishment.

It is not policy to do cavity searches in the field unless there is a iminent risk to the officer's safety. Any cavity searches for contraband must be done by a licensed physician and not in the field.

I saw the video and it looked like they were wearing both at the moment they committed those acts.

They were at the time of the incident. They were then suspended, lost their badge and gun, so technically they are no longer criminals with badges and guns.... they are unemployed defendants.. .

Good to see DPS stepping up. There is a lot more to the story that may hit the media some day.
