Re: CHL holders saving the day!
The gentleman in Cleveland fired shots into the air, which is not a recommended "best practice." However, no harm, no foul. The bad guy is in jail and no one got hurt.
Here's another self-defense story (though not a CHL): http://abclocal.go.com/ktrk/story?id=8931877" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
In Abilene, estranged boyfriend broke into the home of his ex-girlfriend in the middle of the night after Christmas. She shot him. He died at the hospital. No one else got hurt.

Fear, anger, hatred, and greed. The devil's all-you-can-eat buffet.

I always loved a happy ending to the stories this time of year.seamusTX wrote:In Abilene, estranged boyfriend broke into the home of his ex-girlfriend in the middle of the night after Christmas. She shot him. He died at the hospital. No one else got hurt.

Re: CHL holders saving the day!
The bad guy taking a dirt nap is certainly better than reading about a mother and two children murdered in their beds on the night after Christmas. However, it can't be easy for any of the survivors. They probably are going to dwell on it every Christmas for many years
It seems like a lot of vicious and insane people are losing control and going on rampages this year. There was another one in the Houston area who killed his mother and himself a few days ago.

People's behavior seems to be strange and combative lately, in in some fairly unlikely places. In my quiet neighborhood some guy two doors down on the corner went berserk with powerful fireworks just after midnight Christmas morning. Was on his porch, screaming and challenging neighbors to come over and fight him over it. We live in a county that's under red flag warning and our neighborhood almost burned down in Sept. 2011 during the big wildfire outbreak in Central Texas. Fortunately, I think a family member finally calmed the person down, but fireworks, steroids, alcohol, and the martial arts alpha culture make for a volatile mix.seamusTX wrote:The bad guy taking a dirt nap is certainly better than reading about a mother and two children murdered in their beds on the night after Christmas. could you elaborate on that a little, please?
