Two mags, 3 rds each. The course of fire: Closest target 10 feet, one round; second target at 25 feet, two rounds, tactical reload, second target gets one more and first target gets the last two. Get off the X.
The first pass, half the shooters could not remember the sequence,
I have a threat at 10 feet and they say I should put one round into the immediate threat, then fire two at the far threat, then reload, then fire another round at the threat 25 feet away, before I can shoot the close threat a second time?
It's no wonder a bunch of experienced shooters might solve those threats in a different, less arbitrary order.
Sorry, didn't make it back very fast. I don't post here much, just read .
It was not a threat accessment exercise, just a simple follow instructions and think through it exercise. The shooters were not ask to determine a course of fire...just follow instructions. Once the clock started, people react so different....
I have still not heard nor can determine what this officer actually seen that night. I mean, just a few months ago we saw pics of a naked man eating a guys face off and it took several shots to stop the threat. College campus. people standing around? Kids making noise? Naked guy acting like a crazed fool? Dark, alone...on my front lawn...I would have shot him and likely more than once, since the report says the kid got back up and come at the officer again.
Some departments are not allotted less than lethal weapons. Did he have a tazer? I have not heard if he had one. I know Harris County Constables in PCT 8 don't carry 'em...
