If I were an attorney I would strike you immediately for being a grumpy old man. You wouldn't even be there long enough to get a voucher for lunch. :evil2:

I saw an episode of "COPS" once where it took six officers to subdue one naked man. Did not look like fun for any of them.

Took 3 officers to subdue this naked man after he shrugged off a taser.

To be clear, I'm not with UPD...I might have a broader range of experience due to what agency I'm with and what side of town I work, but I know some very good cops with a maroon patch on their shoulder.

Two mags, 3 rds each. The course of fire: Closest target 10 feet, one round; second target at 25 feet, two rounds, tactical reload, second target gets one more and first target gets the last two. Get off the X.

The first pass, half the shooters could not remember the sequence,
I have a threat at 10 feet and they say I should put one round into the immediate threat, then fire two at the far threat, then reload, then fire another round at the threat 25 feet away, before I can shoot the close threat a second time? :headscratch

It's no wonder a bunch of experienced shooters might solve those threats in a different, less arbitrary order.
Sorry, didn't make it back very fast. I don't post here much, just read .

It was not a threat accessment exercise, just a simple follow instructions and think through it exercise. The shooters were not ask to determine a course of fire...just follow instructions. Once the clock started, people react so different....

I have still not heard nor can determine what this officer actually seen that night. I mean, just a few months ago we saw pics of a naked man eating a guys face off and it took several shots to stop the threat. College campus. people standing around? Kids making noise? Naked guy acting like a crazed fool? Dark, alone...on my front lawn...I would have shot him and likely more than once, since the report says the kid got back up and come at the officer again.

Some departments are not allotted less than lethal weapons. Did he have a tazer? I have not heard if he had one. I know Harris County Constables in PCT 8 don't carry 'em...

More info on the shooting here:

The guy was high on LSD. Assaulted several people prior to the shooting. Police did not have taser, pepper spray or baton, just the gun. There is a video of the incident, but most likely will not be made public.

Just cause a person is naked does not mean they are defenseless. I would not want to be in the cops shoes, but I could see a few scenarios where a naked person would be a lethal threat. Sorry the student died, but that is why we tell people not to use drugs, they make you do terrible crazy things. Choices have consequences.

If they are naked and eating someone's face, or if they are screaming at you threats and coming on quick.....yep you might have to use legal force. Now if they are in your domiciles room of rest and are welcome, well, now that may be a horse of a whole different color. :smilelol5:

New information released, according to the lawyer the officer did have access to less than lethal measures. This case should be interesting as it unfolds...
